From the Desk of an Unhappy Citizen

happy_citizens is a sham - an experiment in memejacking and social engineering.

Speaking with the creator of happy_citizens last night, I learned that their answer to the question "Who is The Hatmaster?" is, simply, Reverend Tedward Q. Porktanker.

Now, any one of us who had been to ricedoutyugo knows that RTQP is a signature on that board. But that's not the answer I was looking for when I started all this, or else I'd have quit when I first clicked the link to ROY.

My goal was to make contact, and to congratulate The Hatmaster on a job well done, on his own AIM name or email. After all, regardless of what trolls say on my journal (I'm still in the process of cleaning up the mess linahott made), the hatbots are not malicious. They're annoying, yes. They're confusing. But they've also caught our attention in a way that made the internet a little more fun. At least, that's what the hatbots did for me.

So feel free to join up with happy_citizens if you just want some badly constructed theories to believe about The Hatmaster. Hell, they tried to pin part of it on MrThePlague again, long after it was established that his involvement was small if it even existed. (I'm relatively certain he'd take credit for his accomplishments if he were involved.)

Let me say it again - happy_citizens cannot be trusted. They offer things they can not deliver, and tout theories that have not been confirmed or proven in any way. Some of those theories directly conflict with evidence I've collected personally.

[In case it wasn't evident, I'm pretty pissed off about their existence. I don't know if "memejacking" is already a word. If it isn't, it should be - and a derogatory one at that. Since they're not offering any valid information and have posted in our community just to advertise theirs, I think I have a right to be a little tweaked at them. Especially for getting people's hopes up.)
